The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) has urged labor parties and employers to provide their feedback on the ministerial decision concerning regulation of occupational safety and health (OSH) management.

The stakeholders can comment on the proposal aiming to develop work environment and enhance OSH standards, which is being posted on the 'Ma3an Lil Qara' portal.

The new regulation would be implemented at low and mid-levels on all establishments that have over 50 full-time workers in all sectors. The rule also focuses on low-level enforcement that targets certain sectors including construction, industry, electricity, energy, gas, oil, water, mining and quarries.

According to the proposal, those who fail to implement the OSH regulations will face penalties as per the labor law and relating ministerial decisions.

If it comes into force, the ministry will review the effectiveness of the regulation on a regular basis and update it whenever necessary with taking into account the requirements of labor market and suggestions.

The ministry said the proposal comes within its keenness to hear all opinions in order to improve it, urging stakeholders to review it through the link (http://qarar.ma3an.gov.sa/a/ideas/recent/campaigns/20466)
