Around 9.8m customers utilize e-services for last nine months, MLSD says

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced the number of those used e-services reached 9,794,571 users for the last nine months since the beginning of 1438 A.H.

Out of which 6,687,712 users mainly executed renewal of permits via the ministry’s portal,
including issuance of 862,251 permits and 27,509 temporary permits.

According to the ministry, expatriates managed via the e-services to obtain 32,505 final exit visas and 190,327 branch change certificates, 126,291 profession change certificates and 801,840 service transfers, while firms got 11,874 activity change certificates.

Moreover, the number of registered users reached 51,941 alongside 5,076 representatives and 27,785 delegates. A total of 2,423 visa requests were submitted by the firms to recruit workers from abroad as 389,052 users issued online nationalization certificates.

By utilizing the e-services, 82,990 users cancelled visas, 184,651 users submitted reports of absent workers, 96,239 users cancelled reports of absent workers and 29,067 users transferred services of dependents.

A total of 129,520 users opened firm files with 99,549 obtaining visas balance for overseas recruitment and 129,729 getting visas processed.

The ministry said its e-portal provides a number of features including, provision of contents in both Arabic and English and the development of open data and interactive map that guides social security beneficiaries through the portal.

It also publishes a raft of labor and social development regulations under one umbrella and offers online instant chats for the visitors as well.

It contains a unified labor and social development e-services guide and latest events in the form of detailed calendars that allow the stakeholders to have look at.

The ministry said the development of the portal depends on open-source programming that can be accessible via https://mlsd.gov.sa. it comes as part of the e-government executive plan which is in cooperation of the e-Government Program (Yesser), added the ministry.

Additionally, the portal comes within the ministry’s efforts to tighten the government expenses on issuing permits as well as expand capacity of its programming.

It is noteworthy that the ministry is one of the first government entities that adopts the open-source portal.
