Participating entities join hands to nationalize shopping centers next year

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) alongside its partnering entities is planning to implement the decision aiming to nationalize shopping centers and closed-area malls in the Al-Qassim region in the beginning of the Hijri year.

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the Governorate of the Qassim Region will join the ministry in enforcing the decision and launching inspection campaigns to track down violators.
The MLSD along with its affiliates including the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) and the Social Development Bank (SDB) have designed training programs and incentives for Saudi entrants. These programs are in cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
Such schemes are vital to get Saudi men and women employed in this important sector as well as supporting entrepreneurs in establishing their business with access to suitable loans.
Meanwhile, the HRDF will offer a group of employment services for establishments and job seekers that allow them to post and search jobs on its national labor gateway (www.taqat.sa).
The e-training program ‘Doroob’, which is one of the HRDF’s initiatives, would offer training courses for those willing to work in these shopping centers, a move that facilitates employment of students and job seekers with catering to the needs of employers in terms of qualified national cadres.
The ‘Doroob’ program also provides on-the-job training, which is in cooperation with renowned universities and institutes in the field of e-training. These free opportunities are designed after the participating entities have formed several strategic partnerships with mega companies in the private sector.

The ministry and its affiliates would formulate public-private partnership to provide transportation means and baby care centers for Saudi females employed in these malls, ensuring suitable work environment and stability for working women.
