The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) said that its department for customer service and labor relations continues to launch awareness campaigns that target domestic workers and employers in shopping centers and labor offices across the regions of the Kingdom. Under the emblem of ‘Towards Conscious Labor Market’, the move comes as part of the labor education initiatives carried out by MLSD, recently. Meanwhile, the ten-day campaign kicked off in Mall of Dhahran in the Eastern Region and Salaam Mall in the Riyadh Region last Monday, aiming to educate domestic workers about work contracts that contain rights and duties, vacation laws and medical insurance for domestic helpers. Additionally, the mall’s visitors were also briefed on end of service rewards, penalties for those who violate the regulations of domestic labor and other similar categories. Additionally, MLSD officials also spared awareness of employers’ rights and duties and contract termination terms along with penalties stemming from breach of contract. It is noteworthy that the campaign has started since May 10 with targeting Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Region.
