MLSD extends deadline for PwD data update till Muharram month
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced the new deadline for updating the medical reports by persons with disabilities to be on Muharram 30 (October 21st) instead of the end of Shawwal.
Al-Hejab bin Ahmed Al-Hazmi, deputy minister for social care and family, clarified the ministry has extended the duration in order to allow persons with disabilities to obtain medical reports required for updating their data unless they face suspension of monetary support.
The deputy minister pointed out that the first phase of updating data including personal data and IBAN ended on July 23 (Shawwal 29) after it had extended for three months. Those who failed to update their data during the first phase will be denied the financial support, added Al-Hazmi.
Al-Hazmi said the ministry will immediately resume the financial support only if they update their personal data and IBAN through visiting the electronic link (eservices.mlsd.gov.sa) or the support service units.
The ministry sent SMS to all beneficiaries and urged them to update their data to avoid denial of the support, he said as well.
The ministry said this move aims to update the medical status of PwD and ensure that the services are being offered to them according to the type of disability. Additionally, it allows the ministry to properly assist them as well as facilitate communicate between them and the ministry via new and easy channels.
