The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) organized recently a workshop titled ‘Labor Education’ at the Headquarters of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). It aims to spread awareness of rights and duties and shed light on clauses that workers in the private sector should be aware of, which comes as part of the Labor Education Program currently held under the emblem of ‘Towards Conscious Labor Market’. At the workshop, the participants were briefed on the most known rights and duties mentioned in the Saudi Labor Market, including the work contract and its stipulations. The gathering also addressed wage types, working hours, annual leave and holidays for workers, maternity leave for working women and general rights stated in the work contract. Meanwhile, the ministry has intensively launched awareness campaigns that target all segments of the society in a bid to protect rights of workers and employers as well as those of the three productive parties. It is noteworthy that the workshop was organized in cooperation with Dr. Kaiser Hamed Metawea Law Office.
