The Ministry of Labor and Social Development and Human Resources Development announced a new incentive program for female and male entrepreneurs who do freelance jobs.

The move aims to raising stability of national workforce in the light of a proper and motivating work environment in order to encourage productivity and development at workplace, MLSD said in a press release.

MLSD spokesman Khaled Abalkhail said entrepreneurs and freelance workers will be able to issue self-employment documents via a special portal, which will be announced within the next few days

The spokesman added the freelance worker program allows them to freely subscribe with the GOSI as HRDF will pay for their insurance subscription for two years.

Abalkhail pointed out independent business owners can pursue 78 occupations and sectors through the program, which can be increased in the future.

He urged freelancers to get their business known and join the electronic market via Bahr platform and Maroof platform, as well as benefit from services offered at these platforms.

Abalkhail highlighted both the ministry and HRDF will provide incentives for independent business owners including electronic payment systems and loans offered by the Social Development Bank (SDB).
