MLSD resolves 23,000 domestic worker cases during 1438 A.H.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development announced on Monday the Committees for the Settlement of Labor Disputes settled down around 23,000 cases concerning domestic workers during the year of 1438 A.H.
MLSD spokesman Khaled Abalkhail said out of which 12,727 cases ended in settlement and another 7,329 decisions were issued, only 2,579 were withdrawn.
Abalkhail pointed out the committees’ statistics showed 3,852 cases on breach of contract, 3,435 cases on refusing pay raise and 9,010 cases on leaving jobs or refusing to work.
Meanwhile, the general department of the committees seeks to settle down cases lodged by domestic workers and achieve its goals in using best programs that automatically receive and look into reported cases, as well as resolving them accordingly.
The ministry said the respective department also strives to coordinate with the related entities in order to offer best and flexible services through its technical office, in addition to train its staff on utilizing legal procedures and preparing e-archives that help them to retrieve previous cases as background information.
It is noteworthy that a total of 38 committees are located in various parts of the Kingdom to take up labor disputes and issues that arise between labor parties.
