MLSD deposits SR 1.6b to support 889,000 beneficiaries in the month of Rabi’ al-awwal

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced that its beneficiaries received on Sunday their social security, as well as support payments that allow them to pay for food and portion of electricity bills for the month of Rabi’ al-awwal.

The ministry said the deposited payments are jointly sent at once to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Dr. Ibrahim Al- Shafiei, deputy minister for social security at the ministry, said the total payments deposited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts reached at SR 1,556,718,670.

For the current month, a total of 888,948 male and female individuals received the ministry’s monetary support with the aim of improving their living conditions, added Al- Shafiei.

Meanwhile, the social security payments reached at SR1,280,018,277 as the lump sum paid for food and portion of electricity bills stood at SR181,656,888 and SR95,043,505, respectively.

According to the directive issued by H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis, the ministry has merged all types of financial aid under one account to support the beneficiaries in paying for their food and part of their electricity bills since the month of Ramadan of the last year.
