The Ministry of Labor and Social Development launched on Monday Morning a service that allows persons with disabilities to electronically apply for the financial assistance through the ministry’s e-services in its website
The launching ceremony was led by Eng. Al-Hejab bin Ahmed Al-Hazmi, deputy minister for social care and family at MLSD, which took place at the ministry’s HQ in Riyadh.
The deputy minister for social care and family clarified that the service comes within the ministry’s keenness to develop and automate services provided to the beneficiaries, pointing out the service aims to facilitate procedures of submitting new applications, expedite completion of these applications, reduce waiting time for the beneficiaries and raise the quality level of services offered to them.
The ministry said the service is in a bid to deliver the financial support to persons with disabilities, as well as facilitating communication between the ministry and the beneficiaries through a number of new channels that are advanced and easy-to-use.
Al-Hazmi highlighted the service which allows PwD to electronically apply for the financial assistance is available around-the-clock, and it does not require them to visit the ministry’s branches to benefit from the service, stressing the ministry seeks to raise the quality level of services provided to its customers.
The deputy minister for social care and family said the automation of service reduces time for processing the beneficiaries’ applications by completing three steps online within 24 hours and without need to the presence of the customer service agent.
Previously, processing applications required ten steps to be completed within 10-20 working days, added Hazmi.
Al-Hazmi said PwD can benefit from the financial support service for PwD by visiting the e-services portal through the ministry’s website (https://eservices.mlsd.gov.sa), choosing the service icon, and submitting the application. They can follow up on the status of application through the option ‘Talabati’ in the website, Al-Hazmi added.
