Spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Khaled Abalkhail said 14 activities have been nationalized in the Northern Borders, adding the ministry and its affiliating entities will offer training and rehabilitation support to nationalize target sectors along with offering e-training via the ‘Doroob’ platform that prepares the youth in various sectors and providing technical support and funding to those who want to set up businesses.

Abalkhail added they will also conduct career fairs that meet the needs of employers and job seekers through utilizing the national labor gateway (NLG), provide support in the field of inspection, monitor nationalization decisions in cooperation with the nationalization committees as part of the ‘target nationalization’ program, as well as supporting transportation for the working women through the Wusool initiative and offering children hospitality centers through the Qurrah initiative.

Meanwhile, the nationalization program for regions is implemented by the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Investment and Commerce, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and the Bena’a Productive Families Center ‘Jana’.

The ‘Jana’ initiative supports the nationalization of truck business to generate job opportunities through making the business exclusive for Saudi nationals who pursue self-employment and want to be entrepreneurs.

Previously, HRH Governor of the Northern Borders Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz and H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser al-Ghafis signed a memorandum of understanding to launch the target nationalization program in the region, which took place at the governorate HQ in Arar.

The MoU aims to increase the contribution of the national cadres to the labor market, nationalize job opportunities in the private sector in the region in a way that provides decent jobs for Saudi nationals and offer quality solutions that enhance productive and sustainable nationalization in the labor market.

The ministry and its affiliating entities under the agreement would join the forces to provide training, employment and incentive services that play a crucial role in regulating and developing the labor market in the region.

Additionally, the MoU is in a bid to enhance partnership and cooperation between the governorate of the Northern Borders and the MLSD, as well as combining efforts in regulating the labor market and achieving the objectives of employment and nationalization in the region.
