9 activities are exclusive for Saudi nationals plus training programs in Najran region: MLSD

Spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Khaled Abalkhail stressed nine activities have been nationalized this year in the Najran region as part of the target nationalization program, which was recently launched in the region.

The spokesman mentioned the nationalization of activities includes jewelry and gold shops, real-estate offices, indoor shopping centers, car rental, charitable entities and foundations, social committees, motorcar agencies, auto parts, shops selling men-only necessities, perfumes, accommodation and tourism.

Meanwhile, the program aims to raise the participation of Saudi nationals in the labor market through providing quality solutions that achieve productive and sustainable nationalization as the ministry and its affiliating entities offer training, employment and incentive support for entrepreneurs with the aim of regulating and developing the labor market. 

Abalkhail clarified both the ministry and its affiliate would offer support in so many fields through providing training and rehabilitation programs that nationalize specific activities and the electronic training programs via the ‘Doroob’ platform that prepare the youth in certain sectors along with providing technical support and funding to those who want to set up businesses.

In addition, they would conduct career fairs that meet the needs of employers and job seekers through utilizing the national labor gateway (NLG), offering inspection support and monitoring nationalization decisions in cooperation with the nationalization committees for implementing the ‘target nationalization’ program, as well as supporting transportation for the working women through the Wusool initiative and offering children hospitality centers through the Qurrah initiative, added Abalkhail.

The target nationalization program is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment and the Technical and Vocational Training Cooperation.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, governor of the Najran region and chairman of the High-level Committee on the target nationalization program, and H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser al-Ghafis signed a memorandum of understanding to launch and support the target nationalization program in the region.
