The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) said on Wednesday one recruitment office faced cancellation of license and another four were denied bank guarantees due to their insolvency or their reluctance to pay customers’ dues. The ministry and related entities stopped services to these offices, in addition to temporarily shutting down 21 offices in order to review their legal status. If they violate the recruitment regulations, they will be penalized as per the law, the ministry added. Last year, 13 licenses and 7 banking guarantees were canceled because of recruitment offices’ failure to claim customers’ rights and committing several violations including direct/indirect waiver of authorization, insolvency/reluctance to pay customers’ dues, asking high fees for bad service and not complying with fees fixed by the ministry. Khaled Abalkhail, spokesman at MLSD, emphasized the ministry’s keenness to monitor recruitment offices and companies and check if they comply with the regulations, which is in a bid to contribute to the stability of recruitment market, remove all violations, protect rights of parties and eventually provide quality services to customers. Meanwhile, the spokesman urged recruitment offices and companies to comply with rules and regulations and offer services as per fees mentioned in the Musaned portal, warning them of giving away the authorization to establishments or individuals.
