MLSD takes part in 332nd Session of the ILO Governing Body in Geneva

The Saudi delegation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is participating in the 332nd Session of the ILO Governing Body held from 12 to 22 March in Geneva, which is led by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain. The meetings of the current session addressed a number of reports provided by the ILO committees. Also, it is expected to explore annual reports on principles and basic rights, the decent work strategy for sustainable development of ILO member countries as well as efforts done by the three productive parties in a bid to enhance and develop social dialogue. The participants will explore cooperation between Southern countries and the ILO and discuss programs, events and budgets to implement these schemes. Meanwhile, the ILO is an important international body whose membership consists of tripartite constituents including government officials, employers and workers. It is specialized in issuing international standards aiming to provide protection for workers, support implementation and dissemination of principles and basic rights at workplace, as well as enhancing the social dialogue and tripartite cooperation among the three productive parties.
