MLSD shares ‘Musaned’ experience at domestic worker meeting on sidelines of 45th Arab labor conference

H.E. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain took part in a meeting on domestic workers with a number of dignitaries including ministers of labor from UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, which was held on the sidelines of the 45th Session of the Arab Labor Conference (April 8-15) in Cairo. At the meeting, several domestic labor issues were explored in a bid to enhance and develop recruitment mechanisms as the Emirati delegation shared their experience on the Tadbeer Service Centers offering services related to recruiting domestic workers as well as challenges and solutions to regulate recruitment in UAE. The MLSD official represented the Musaned program that concerns the affairs of domestic workers as part of the ministry’s initiatives and efforts in regulating the domestic labor market. The participants agreed to form technical committees which are tasked to study the challenges and proposals discussed during the meeting and develop recruitment procedures between the participating countries and labor-exporting countries, in order to be reviewed by their labor ministers in the upcoming meeting.
