MLSD conducts 10,000 inspection rounds on car rental shops in a bid to ensure employers’ compliance with nationalization decision

In cooperation with several entities, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) conducted 10,044 inspection rounds on car rental shops across various regions of the Kingdom to make sure employers comply with the decision aiming to nationalize the car rental sector. The total nationalization of the car rental sector which has come into effect since March 18 in all regions of the Kingdom targets specific jobs in accounting, supervision, sales, delivery and shipping. Khaled Abalkhail, spokesman for MLSD, said the inspection rounds have uncovered 9,097 law-abiding establishments compared to 330 uncompliant ones. During the crackdown, the inspection campaigns detected 464 violations, including 301 nationalization violations and 163 violations related to other labor issues, Abalkhail pointed out. The spokesman urged customers to report labor violations or submit inquires through contacting the Customer Service no. (19911) or using the ‘Ma3an Lil Rasd’ app on smart phones. Meanwhile, the sectoral enforcement gives no exception for any establishment either mega, large, medium or small-sized.
