MLSD, affiliated entities plan to train, employ and finance 60,000 Saudi nationals as first phase of project

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) and its affiliated entities plan to provide a number of training, rehabilitation and employment programs and financing schemes that target in the first phase of project employment of 60,000 Saudi men and women in the private sector. H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman al-Rajhi headed the first meeting of committee on supervising nationalization, which was held at the MLSD HQ in Riyadh on Tuesday. It was attended by H.E. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, Director-General of the HRDF Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Sudairy, Director-General of the Social Development Bank Ibrahim bin Hamad al-Rashid alongside other deputy ministers. The meeting also discussed all programs and initiatives that empower Saudi men and women to enter the labor market and ways to encourage establishments to employ Saudi citizens through various partnerships with the private sector. The HRDF announced a number of training and employment schemes for Saudi men and women as chambers of commerce and industry in various regions will take part in their execution, in addition to providing e-training courses via ‘Doroob’ platform. Other employment channels include the National Labor Gateway ‘Taqat’, job placement centers, HRDF branches, ‘e-Liqaat’ job fairs, Boosting Nationalization at Establishments Program, the Part-time Job Program, the Transportation Program for the Working Woman ‘Wusool’, the Children Hospitality Program ‘Qurrah’ and the Support Program for SME Owners. In this respect, the National Development Bank also announced various financing programs for Saudi men and women without interest in order to encourage them to have their own business in certain sectors the bank supports. Additionally, the Dulani Business Center provides training, coaching and consulting services for small business owners as their teams has an accumulated experience and the center forms multiple partnership with several entities that support small enterprises. The HRDF and the SDB conducted several workshops and meetings to educate Saudi nationals and business owners about career and training opportunities available in the private sector and to make labor market data available to them in order to design training and employment programs. Meanwhile, the committee on supervising nationalization has actively engaged to pin down fields and sectors that support training and employment of Saudi nationals in partnership with the private and public sectors.
