MLSD, Alfanar Co. launch Electricity Market Pioneers Program

The Ministry of Labor and Social development (MLSD) launched on Sunday the Electricity Market Pioneers Program in cooperation with Alfanar Co., which was held at the company’s Headquarters. The program aims to train and rehabilitate Saudi youth in the electrical utility sector, which goes hand in hand with the Ministerial Decision aiming to nationalize the sales of 12 economic activities (sectors). At the launching event, a presentation was displayed to give information about the program and its theoretical and practical training to the attendants. Mr. AbdulSalam al-Tuwaijri, director for nationalization of commercial sector, delivered his speech on the nationalization of the electrical utility sector, stressing the importance of this sector to replace expat workers with Saudi salesman. Mr. al-Tuwaijri added the partnership between MLSD and Alfanar is a role model for other large companies and SMEs in the Kingdom, hoping other companies will follow suit as well. According to the partnership, a number of Saudi nationals will be trained by the company to work at one of its specialized facilities and deliver Alfanar products to its customers, helping the company to overcome lack of qualified candidates through designing specialized training programs. At the end of the event, the Nationalization Department of MLSD and Alfanar Co. agreed to support the Electricity Market Pioneers Program and other similar programs in cooperation of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).
