MLSD implements 2,920 inspection rounds on home and office furniture shops, uncovering 257 violations

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development said Sunday inspection teams have implemented 2,920 inspection rounds on home and office furniture shops to enforce the nationalization decision since its enforcement on Sept. 11 which is in cooperation with several government entities. Khaled Abalkhail, spokesman for MLSD, said ‘The inspection rounds have uncovered 257 violations detected across the Kingdom, including 217 nationalization violations.’ In this respect, the spokesman urged customers to report labor violations or submit inquires relating to the decision through contacting the Customer Service no. (19911) or using the ‘Ma3an Lil Rasd’ app on smart phones. Meanwhile, the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) offers a number of programs that target entities involved in the furniture industry as well as job seekers who are interested to join the industry, which is in a bid to employ qualified Saudi nationals and meet employers’ needs. Additionally, the HRDF supports Saudi workers in the sector by paying part of their salaries and helps those who want to start a furniture business by utilizing the Training & Rehabilitation Program for Small Enterprise Owners and the Incentive Program for Small Enterprise Owners. Moreover, the National Labor Gateway ‘Taqat’ provides several solutions for both job seekers and employers, which comes as part of the exerted efforts in providing job opportunities for Saudi nationals and helping the business owners with recruiting qualified workers in the private sector.
